Volunteers Needed!
asapm has a dozen interesting projects going,
all based on volunteer efforts. The purpose of these projects is
consistent with the purpose of asapm: to advance the practice of Project
Management in the USA.
You can volunteer for Project Teams, projects, write magazine articles and or develop website enhancements!
Here is your chance to help asapm grow and improve our service to the
practice of Project Management. Note that the items in Purple are completed, or already have some volunteers working on them.
0100 Standards

- To complement our National Competence Baseline, we are producing a Universal Project Management Methodology. As often happens, we started with an acronym: Project Oriented Enterprise Method™, or POEM™. The UK has Prince 2, but asapm has members who have produced World-class methodologies. Are you interested?
- We are forming a working group to update and pilot Bill Duncan's OCiPM, Organizational Competence In Project Management. This competence assessment initiative is way beyond maturity models in its ability to help improve Enterprise PM effectiveness.
- The asapm Atlas is our project management portal.
We need a Project Manager and team members to flesh out this Wiki-based
approach to re-using the
content
already available in the world of Project Management.

- Develop marketing materials for target audiences (certificants, members,
corporate sponsors, and so on).
- Coordinate with our Director of Education on our University Outreach project, engaging Universities to structure their curricula to support our USA/NCB, the National Competence Baseline for Project Management.

0300 Website Support

- Job Posting Manager, collecting and posting Project Management-related job openings.
- We need Assistant Webmasters, to take responsibility for specific areas of the
asapm and PMCert websites.
Even though we have established a rich, useful site, we need more help to improve
the web site, adding features, or improving the design.
If you know something about html, Search Engine Optimization
or cascading style sheets, or if you want to hone or learn Dreamweaver
skills, this is your opportunity!

asapm Webmaster

0400 Education and Learning

- We have a Project Manager, and need team members to help kick off the Marketing of our updated Competence Enablers program, our database of savvy vendors who understand how to help enterprises and workgroups to improve their Project Management Competence.
- We now have a Project Manager and still need team members for a Speakers' Bureau, so members can offer our services as event and meeting speakers.
- asapm is establishing a Young Crew branch in the USA. Very popular in other IPMA Member Associations, Young Crew is for young people from College age and into your 30's, who network and work with Mentors enroute to becoming tomorrow's Outstanding Project Managers.
- PMCoPs: Get involved in helping build a Project Management Community of Practice in your area.
Much easier than building a Chapter, PMCoPs are a great way to establish your own project network.
- University Outreach project, to engage Universities in a curriculum that supports USA/NCB.
