This section of the asapm website shows our initiatives to advance the practice of Project Management in the USA, in the areas of Certification, Standards, and Learning.

Certification
 Certification Update
PMCert
Certification Program Overview
Our greatest initiative is our Certification Program. The asapm Board and
dozens of volunteers have worked to produce the U.S.A.'s
National Competence Baseline (the foundation of competence-based certification).
And, we've established PMCert as our
semi-autonomous certification organization. PMCert is now assessing and awarding certificates for the following levels:
asapm Certified Senior Project Manager, IPMA Level-B®, asapm Certified Project Manager, IPMA Level-C®, and
asapm Certified Project Practitioner, IPMA Level-D®
Standards
Global Performance Based PM Standards
asapm is a participant (thanks to Bill Duncan's efforts) in the development of Global Performance Based Standards for Project Management.
This International group has completed and approved Global Project Management Performance Standards for Senior Project Manager and Project Manager. They are continuing to work on standards for other positions.

CE Competence Enablers
Education Director Gary Klein has several new initiatives he is interested in starting, including:
- Helping align University curricula with the IPMA Competence Baseline.
- Increasing the partnering on Research projects between asapm and Universities.
- Implementation of IPMA's Young Crew program in the US.
All this, in addition to maintaining the programs developed by his predecessors. Watch this space for details on Gary's newest programs! Or, Contact Gary to get involved!

In addition to the programs listed at left, there are many more opportunities for you to make a difference in the practice of Project Management. Some of them are more on the administrative side of asapm.
