asapm's 2012 Project and Program Management Symposium, with the theme of Project Management: Delivering the Promise, will be held in Arlington, Virginia, USA on March 5, 2012.

About The Need To Deliver

Project and Program Managers and our Stakeholders face great challenges over the next 12-24 months. Projects are under fire to deliver more, integrate more effectively, demonstrate ROI earlier, and drive revenue faster than ever. Whether you are in the private sector, public sector or not for profit arena, you face unprecedented challenges in delivering on the promise of project management.

This one day Project and Program Management Symposium will explore tangible methods and tools for maximizing a projects ability to deliver. David will be our kick-off Keynote Speaker. Donna FitzgeraldDonna Fitzgerald:Making the Right Decision.” Donna is the Nimble PM and a Portfolio Management master. She helps organizations improve their program and portfolio management capabilities. Ms. Fitzgerald uses her experience in setting up PMOs, and in managing programs and project portfolios, to help clients seek the quickest, easiest path to success.
Tom MochalTom Mochal, PgMP, PMP, TSPM is the president of TenStep, Inc. will speak on "Green Project Management." TenStep is a (www.TenStep.com), a methodology development, consulting and training company. He is also the head of The TenStep Group, a network of over 50 offices providing consulting, training and other project management services around the world. Paul HesselmanPaul Hesselman, IPMA-NL: “Avoiding Adventureland: Making the most of your Steering Committee.” Paul has over 35 years experience in project functions, and was one of the first Dutch project managers certified by IPMA. He is a Program Director with a leading IT company in The Netherlands. He is a "people person" who knows how to get the best from his team.
Andrew Bragg Andrew Bragg: "Practicing What We Preach’." Andrew is the Chief Executive for the Association for Project Management (IPMA-UK). His Chief Executive roles cover the multimedia, print and packaging sectors and involved the project management of significant capital and organisational initiatives. He has worked for publishers, and a European lighting brand. Yvette BurtonYvette Burton, VW America. “Colleagues, Cultures, Processes: The Art of Designing Interactions” Yvette has over 20 years of experience in Project Management Offices (PMOs). She is recognized for innovation and creativity in working with technical, creative and non-technical disciplines for the implementation of large complex projects and PMOs.
DeliverThePromiseDr. J. Davidson Frame, Academic Dean of the University of Management and Technology, will speak on the topic, Black Swans or White? Exploring the premises of the unmanageability of high impact, low probability events. His session examines the premises of Black Swan events to see the extent to which they are truly unpredictable and unmanageable. Bob YoukerRobert Youker: “Evaluating Project Impact -- Lessons from International Development.” Robert Youker is a PM Trainer and Consultant with over 35 years experience. At World Bank, he developed and presented six week PM training courses for managers of major projects in many different countries, with a focus on Developing countries.

DuncanWilliam Duncan: “Defining and Measuring Project Success.” Duncan is the USA Leader for ICB4, Chair of asapm’s Certification Board, architect of the asapm Performance Rated Organization assessment, and contributor to the GAPPS global PM performance standards. Speaker, Trainer and PM Consultant, Duncan was also the primary author of the original PMBOK® Guide.
